ENERGIZE YOURSELF TO ENERGIZE YOUR BUSINESS

How often throughout the day do you stop to think about your health? You may know intuitively, if you're not healthy, then your business cannot be healthy. But, do your actions follow your thoughts? "Busi-ness" often battles the time you have for yourself, so I've included several quick ideas for stress release, and more energy you can easily implement into your busy day. Consider it instant energy without the caffeine!

I invite you to take a 5 minute break and read these quick tips on staying healthy, even when your business is yelling louder then your back (or hip or head...insert whatever physical pain you feel here).

Quick Invigorating Exercises You Can Do At Your Desk

Relief for typing strain. Simply roll your shoulders forward, up, back and down in a circular motion. Repeat ten times and remember to switch directions. Take a moment when you're done to pull your shoulder blades together and hold for 10 seconds or so.

Shoulder ache relief. With arms straight at sides, raise them forward and up over your head. Stretch and hold.

Stretch your back without getting up. While seated in your chair, feet flat on the floor, simply bend over and place your hands on the floor, or use the chair legs as leverage to gently pull yourself over to increase the stretch.

Quick Brain Energizers You Can Do Before You Meet Your Next Client

Tap K-27's. This comes from a 10 minute energy balance routine I do. It really does get the blood flowing, and reduces stress: Find the end of your collar bone (near the center of your throat and chest area). Guide your fingers down and slightly outward until you feel a soft tissue area, sort of like a divot. Using the points of all your fingers, simply "thump" the divots firmly about 20 times. Email me if you have trouble locating this area.

Cross-crawl. This helps get both sides of your brain activated and move blood all at the same time. Touch your elbow to the opposite knee. Do this several times while standing or while seated.

Quick Tips For Any Time Of Day

  • Drink a big glass of water!
  • Do something silly.
  • Close your eyes and breath deeply (not to be done while driving, or course)!
  • Go for a very quick run. Anything that will increase your heart rate will be an instant stress reducer.

Personal story - The other day I had to run, FAST, to catch my son's helium balloon that had blown out of the car. I had been feeling stressed and anxious all day, but that very quick run across the parking lot took care of it. I only ran about the width of a Walgreens, yet the quick exertion took care of the stress I'd been battling all morning long! Try it, and let me know if you don't feel a whole lot better. By the way, the sillier you look the better. :)

I encourage you to find time each day for both your mental and physical health. Your body AND your business will thank you.

Wishing you endless success,

Tia Ribary
