If one of your business goals is getting your systems and processes under control, then read on...

Systems can mean the difference between knowing what to do next and staring blankly at the wall wondering "what do I do
next?"

As a business owner, you likely have too much to do. That can lead to too much on your mind which leads to overwhelm. What do
you do when you are overwhelmed? Do you waste time thinking about all that needs to be done? Do you have a hard time
completing a task that you've done several times before? Do you have trouble concentrating?

What if everything you needed to do was documented so that 1. You didn't have to think about the "next step" and 2. You could
delegate the task easily?

Michael Gerber, author of the "E-Myth" tells us to make our companies "system dependent, not people dependent." How do you do
this? Take the thinking out of it! Make sure you aren't leaving steps out of a repetitive process by thinking through, and then documenting that process.

Create a list of things/tasks/processes that you do naturally every day. A sales process might involve taking a client from first meeting,
to final sale, and then on to support. What steps are involved along the way? What potential issues can you address before
they happen?

A billing process might be taking a client from their first invoice to receiving a payment and following up on outstanding
invoices. Do you have a system in place for receiving payments, monitoring accounts receivable, and addressing past due
invoices?

What other processes are a part of your business?

Thinking through each aspect of your business can and will save you time and stress in the long run. If you are not sure
where to start, it may be helpful to have a third party take you through the process of developing and documenting your
processes!
